Rooted in the artist's Northeast Chinese family experience,
this project draws on oral history, archival research, and participatory methods
to examine the structural invisibility of women's reproductive labour in East Asian households.
It develops an"acoustic power"mechanism in which audience choice becomes integral to the work.
By navigating between engagement and withdrawal,
viewers are implicated in the ongoing cycles of gendered structural violence.
